Meet Judge Brian Lake
Brian Lake was sworn in as a member of the DeKalb Superior Court on June 1st, 2023. Lake is a DeKalb native who graduated from Decatur High School and then attended the University of Georgia for both undergrad and law school. During law school, Lake met his wife Kat, who now serves as a public defender in Fulton County. Prior to attending law school, Lake worked in construction for approximately three years at commercial jobsites across the metro-Atlanta area.
Before taking the bench, Lake was a partner at Robbins Alloy Belinfante Littlefield LLC in Atlanta, Georgia where he spent several years focusing his practice on complex civil litigation, representing clients in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. Lake also maintained an active pro bono practice, representing domestic violence victims attempting to obtain temporary protective orders against their assailants as well as assisting renters in a variety of landlord-tenant disputes. Prior to entering private practice, Lake served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William T. Moore, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
